Melissa Seidel MSW, LICSW

Melissa Seidel is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who has over 10 years of experience providing mental health services for children, adolescents and families in both clinical and school settings. Melissa received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from The University of Northwestern - St. Paul and her Master’s degree in Social Work from St. Catherine University/University of St. Thomas.

Melissa comes from a strengths-based perspective and uses compassion, authenticity, creativity, and humor in her work. In your session, you can expect Melissa to hold space for whatever you are needing at that moment. Her goal is to create a safe, unconditionally supportive environment in which her client can use to heal and grow.

Melissa’s therapeutic approach is influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Psychodynamic Therapy. She also utilizes psycho-education, mindfulness and Brainspotting in sessions.

Melissa has specialized training in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International (PSI) and The Touchstone Institute. She is passionate about working with pregnant and postpartum clients and is honored to walk alongside them in this beautiful yet challenging chapter of life. Melissa offers compassionate care and evidence-based interventions to help individuals and families navigate this transformative time with strength and resilience.

Melissa commonly works with adolescents, teenagers, and adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, perinatal mood disorders, ADHD, trauma-related issues, transitions and life changes, grief and loss, relational difficulties, spirituality, and religious deconstruction. Melissa takes a “health at every size (HAES)” approach and is committed to helping clients embrace their inherent worth, while they prioritize their health and well-being compassionately and inclusively.

When not working, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, discovering new podcasts or music, and trying new restaurants.
